Psalm 139: 4Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
It has been
said that after many years of living together, a man and his wife would now
each other so well that they would not need to express in words what their
subtle body language would convey.
Sometimes a
stare with her eyes would make the husband retract his plans, or sometimes a cynical
smile from the wife would give the answer to the question the husband had
asked. A smile could mean and approval and a blessing or a smile can mean a
warning, which says try it if you dare?
Also the
intuition of a woman is very sensitive to the needs of a child, the mother can
interpret every cry or reaction of a child and would be able to know exactly
the child’s needs. This is the love and proximity that the mother has built and
developed with the child.
In the same
manner God our Heavenly Father also knows each and every one of His children. He
is in the third heaven where His eyes go to and fro watching out for His
children and His ear is always attentive to our call and cry.
David who
has such a close and intimate relationship with the Father wrote in this psalm ‘Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord,
know it completely’ David wrote through his experience with God. David had
been through many challenging situations before in his life and each time He
knew that no matter how challenging the situation was, God was there to see him
through.
Therefore it
was a personal conviction that David wrote this psalm and we are reminded that
as David had experienced God’s love and mercy, we too can experience the same
with our Heavenly Father.
Recently I
too went through a challenging time and during that period I experienced a
prompting which I did not respond to and it was only after that and seeing the
results that I understood that God was actually prompting me to the situation
and I failed to take heed and had to suffer the consequences.
